Bournemouth’s impressive unbeaten run in the Premier League will be put to the test by Michael Carrick’s in-form Man Utd
Manchester United have an opportunity to put down another marker in the battle for Champions League qualification when they face Bournemouth tonight.
Just six points separates Man United in third to sixth-placed Chelsea in the Premier League table going into this weekend’s action, with the Red Devils aiming to sign off for the international break by recording back-to-back wins.
Michael Carrick's side responded to defeat in their last away game - against ten-man Newcastle 16 days ago - by beating fellow top-four hopefuls Aston Villa and can stretch their advantage with a win at the Vitality Stadium.
However, United have not beaten Bournemouth in the last five meetings between the two sides. That said, they have not tasted defeat at the Vitality since November 2019 and have picked up 22 points out of a possible 27 since Carrick was appointed head coach.
The Cherries, meanwhile, are on a run of ten Premier League without defeat, which is the longest unbeaten sequence across the entire division at present and they still harbour hopes of European qualification.
