Hugo Souza out injured, Corinthians prepare to face Vitória

On the morning of Wednesday, the 22nd, Corinthians continued their preparations to face Vitória in a match that will take place this Saturday, the 25th, at 4:00 PM (Brasília time), for the 30th round of the Brazilian Championship. Guided by coach Dorival Júnior, the players carried out the first tactical training sessions of the week at CT Joaquim Grava.

The training started with the traditional activation session in the gym. Next, already on the pitch, the team did their warm-up and was led by Dorival through two tactical drills, focused on different game situations. The coach used the session to test the formation likely to start the next match. The coaching staff also dedicated part of the activity to set-piece plays.

The bad news was the confirmation of an injury to goalkeeper Hugo Souza, who suffered trauma to his left shoulder during the match against Atlético-MG last Saturday, the 18th. After imaging exams, an acromioclavicular dislocation was confirmed at the site. He will now undergo physiotherapy sessions to treat the injury.

It is worth remembering that Corinthians have 36 points in the Brazilian Championship, with nine wins, nine draws, and 11 losses, occupying 11th place in the standings. If they achieve a positive result against Vitória this Saturday, and depending on the other results of the round, they could climb up to two positions in the table.
