Hull City and Ipswich Town interested in Rennes centre-forward Breel Embolo

Promoted Premier League sides Hull City FC and Ipswich Town FC are interested in Rennes and Switzerland international centre-forward Breel Embolo (29), according to a report from Onze Mondial. The 29-year-old joined Rennes from Ligue 1 rivals AS Monaco last summer in a €13m move. His debut season in Brittany drew mixed reviews, as he only logged ten goals and three assists.

Embolo came alive in the 2026 World Cup with Murat Yakin’s Nati. The striker scored and assisted twice in Switzerland’s run to the World Cup quarter-final, where Embolo received a controversial red card against Argentina. Serie A sides and Atlanta United FC are also said to be in the race to sign Embolo, with the MLS franchise expected to submit a bid. However, Embolo reportedly favours a move to England.
