The Tigers look to have won the race to sign Louie Barry.
Hull City are closing in on an agreement with Aston Villa for the transfer of Louie Barry.
The Tigers look set to complete a transfer coup for the forward, as per Birmingham World, while a deal could be completed as early as today - albeit there is no rush given Villa's PSR issues appear to now be over.
The East Yorkshire outfit have been touted to make a move for the Villa man since his previous loan spell at the MKM Stadium, which was disrupted by a knee injury and led to him making just four appearances.
But it looks like Hull see potential in the 22-year-old, with the report stating that a move will be on a permanent basis.
It’s an agreement that suits both parties, with Hull bolstering their frontline while Aston Villa look set to rack up further pure profit for their accounts, with both Barry and Kaine Kesler-Hayden departing for Hull and Coventry City respectively.
As reported by Birmingham World, Hull City are likely to make Louie Barry their fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
Barry is set to join Dillon Phillips, Semi Ajayi, Reda Laalaoui and Gustavo Puerta in moving to the MKM Stadium, as the Tigers look to build a competitive second tier squad under new boss Sergej Jakirovic.
The report reveals that talks between Hull City and Aston Villa are heading to the final stages, with Barry keen on the move to prove himself in the Championship.
All parties are hopeful that a move can be finalised shortly, while the fee for the transfer yet to be revealed.
Despite Barry having an impressive half-season with Stockport County in League One prior to his loan switch to Hull in the second half of the campaign, there appears to have been no other serious suitors who have tried to land his services on a permanent deal, which has led to Hull having a clear path to secure his return.
Hull City will be ecstatic to land Louie Barry again and see what he can produce for the club when injury-free.
The forward will be eager to prove that he has what it takes to be a marksman in the Championship too, after a tough first spell at the MKM Stadium, and is sure to be delighted to re-unite with some familiar faces.
Despite moving clubs a lot in the early days of his playing career, Barry has showcased that he does know where the back of the net is when given the opportunity, and at 22, he has a lot more room to grow and develop into a second tier superstar.
This could be the signing Hull need to rise up the Championship table and steer clear of the relegation zone next term, and it will be exciting to see how he fares this upcoming campaign.
