Everton are getting ready for a tough Merseyside Derby against Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield on September 20, 2025. The Toffees are still struggling with injury concerns in the backline. Jarrad Branthwaite, who is an important defender for the club, will miss the game against Liverpool. On the other hand, Vitaliy Mykolenko did not play in their previous game against Aston Villa and might not feature against the Reds. So, David Moyes will have to adjust the backline for this game yet again.

Everton Predicted 4-2-3-1 Starting Lineup Against Liverpool:

Defence:

Jordan Pickford will most likely continue as the goalkeeper for the team in this game as well. James Tarkowski and Michael Keane will form the centre-back partnership. As Mykolenko is injured, James Garner will most probably play as the left-back. On the other hand, Jake O’Brien will continue as the right-back. The four-man defence has to be strong against Liverpool’s attack, and they will have to deal with a lot of pressure.

David Moyes will have more choices in the midfield. Idrissa Gueye, who shines with his defensive work rate, will start as one of the players in the pivot role. Tim Iroegbunam will partner with him as another player in the pivot role. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will most likely play as the central attacking midfielder in an advanced role. He will link the attack to the midfield and inject creativity into Everton’s game.

Attack:

Iliman Ndiaye has been in good form in the recent matches and will most probably start on the right wing. Jack Grealish, who moved on loan from Manchester City to Everton, has also been in sensational form this season and is most likely to start on the left.

Beto is likely to lead the line as the main striker. Moyes could also consider summer signing Thierno Barry if he wants to add another dimension to the attack, but for this crucial derby, Beto is expected to get the nod.
