Enzo Fernandez has thanked Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher for his recent comments praising his form, and admitted it meant a lot to him.
Chelsea paid a then British record of £106m to sign Fernandez from Portuguese giants Benfica in January 2023, and he’s established himself as a key player.
The 25-year-old has captained the Blues on a number of occasions and was part of the side which won both the Conference League and Club World Cup last season.
Fernandez scored nine goals and registered 17 assists in 53 appearances last season, and has been in equally impressive form this season.
The World cup winner has scored 11 goals and registered four assists in 36 appearances in all competitions, including a last minute winner against West Ham last weekend.

Rosenior has been full of praise for Fernandez, and Carragher praised the Argentine on Monday Night Football, highlighting how he’s been one of the best midfielders in the league this season.
“I want to thank him publicly for saying those words about me,” he told Sky Sports.
“I’m grateful to hear it from a legend like him.”
Fernandez will be hoping to continue his good form as Chelsea travel to bottom club Wolves on Saturday, looking to make it four league wins in a row.
Fernandez is under contract until 2032, but his form has reportedly caught the attention of European giants Real Madrid and PSG.
It’s been reported he’s looking for an improved contract, and it’s believed the agency who represent him have made this clear to Chelsea.

Fernandez is an integral part of the project, and his versatility across midfield is invaluable to Rosenior, given he can play both in a pivot and more as a number ten.
Chelsea are reportedly looking to sign a new midfielder in the summer to help ease the burden on Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, and it will be interesting to see who they go for.
