Club Brugge look to have found another gem. The side did it last year with Ardon Jashari, and now, in Nicolo Tresoldi, they have another young player who will be on plenty of shopping lists next summer. The 21-year-old scored twice against Westerlo last night to give him five goals in 14 games this season, with four of those coming in his last three games. The former Hannover 96 youngster is already two goals away from his tally for the German second tier side. Couple this form with a hat-trick for the German U21 side against Latvia at the start of September and it has been an incredible month for Tresoldi.

In many ways, Tresoldi wasn’t expected to get as many chances as he has. The emergence of Romeo Vermant last summer saw him elevated to starting striker, with Tresoldi coming in to back him up after Ferran Jutgla left and Gustaff Nilsson was expected to depart. However, Nilsson stayed, and Vermant then got injured to give Tresoldi a chance to start. In his early matches for Club Brugge, it was clear that Tresoldi was a talent. His movement and ability to find himself in the right positions constantly passed the eye test, although his early season finishing left a little to be desired.

However, after opening his account for the side against Rangers in Champions League qualification, Tresoldi has gone from strength to strength. Already, that quality movement is being coupled with better finishing, as seen by his recent run of form. Bundesliga clubs will certainly have the 21-year-old German on their radar already, especially after how well he played against Monaco in the Champions League.

Tresoldi is certainly benefiting from having some of the best creative players in Belgium behind him. Hans Vanaken is already linking up well with the striker, while Christos Tzolis is clearly enjoying being able to lay on assists and score goals. The Greek leads the side with three assists already this season. Tresoldi leads the side with three goals in the league and he is likely to add plenty more this season if he remains fit. When Vermant does regain full fitness, he is going to have to be patient and back-up the in form German.

Club Brugge made a lot of money selling some key players for large amounts this summer. If Tresoldi keeps it up this year, he will likely be the next one to get the cash register ringing in Brugge next summer.
