Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal has missed the team’s last three matches against Valencia, Newcastle United, and Getafe due to pubic discomfort.

The 18-year-old wonderkid, who won the 2025 Kopa Trophy on Monday, exacerbated the problem while away on national team duty with Spain this month and has since been out of action.

But, it appears that things are starting to look up for the La Masia sensation, who finished second in the 2025 Ballon d’Or race behind Ousmane Dembele.

Getting closer to a comeback

Indeed, Lamine took a step forward in his recovery on Tuesday.

According to SPORT, the Barcelona winger set foot for the first time since his injury on the grass of the Ciutat Esportiva, working separately from his team-mates and touching the ball after more than a week of training alone in the gym.

The feeling is positive, and the progress of the injury gives cause for optimism. For the moment, he is not expected to be included in the squad for the match against Real Oviedo.

But the coaching staff’s intention is for him to participate or at least travel with the team for the fixture against Real Sociedad.

The main target is for him to be 100% fit and ready for the Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain, a clash highlighted in red on Barcelona’s calendar.

Lamine’s return to training, even if still apart from the group, is excellent news for Barcelona, who will soon be able to count again on one of their most important attacking players.

The quality of the La Masia graduate has been decisive in the early parts of the season, and Barcelona need him in this stretch with so many matches.

It should be remembered that the player returned from Paris in the early hours with the Barcelona delegation after collecting the award for second place in the Ballon d’Or.

Despite starting today’s session in the gym, he has already begun working on the pitch, although still at low intensity.
