Injuries have hurt FC Barcelona in a big way in recent weeks, with several key players falling prey to fitness problems.
Robert Lewandowski is one such player who currently finds himself in the infirmary having suffered a hamstring injury during the international break while in action for Poland.
The 37-year-old’s injury caused some frustration within the club as he carried on playing for his national team despite having felt some discomfort.
But the good news, according to Kanal Sportawy in Poland (h/t Gerard Romero), is that Lewandowski is recovering well from his injury.
Indeed, the veteran Barcelona superstar is making good progress in his rehabilitation and is working to return in time for the game against Elche early next month, despite a possible recovery period of 4-6 weeks being reported before.
Lewandowski has so far missed the matches against Girona and Olympiacos and was already ruled out of the Clasico against Real Madrid on Sunday.

A week later, on 2 November, the Blaugrana take on Elche at home, and Lewandowski’s aim is to be ready in time for that encounter.
Lewandowski has had a strange start to the season, having lost his regular starting berth to Ferran Torres at Barcelona.
Despite that, the Poland captain had been among the goals prior to his injury and will be hoping to hit the ground running once he returns.
As has already been reported, this may well turn out to be Lewandowski’s final season at Barcelona, given he is in the final year of his contract and there appear to be no plans for an extension.
In that case, the 37-year-old striker will be intent on signing off on a high and helping the team win more trophies.
