After taking care of Kenan Yildiz, Juventus wish to strike a deal with Weston McKennie and avoid a Bosman departure, but there’s some work to be done, and Inter recently poked around to gather some intel, Corriere dello Sport informs.

The American star is represented by the Wasserman group. Their representatives recently paid a visit to the Bianconeri HQ and left without a new contract. Another meeting is expected soon.

While Juventus remain the favorite to retain McKennie, Inter lodged an inquiry, and he’s not lacking interest from abroad. In particular, a couple of MLS franchises are trying to bring him back home, but he appears keener on not leaving Serie A.

In addition to the salary and the length of the new pact, the commissions are also a sticking point. The jack-of-all-trades is in the midst of a career season and bagged his seventh seasonal goal versus Lazio. He’s been the most prolific midfielder in Serie A since the Old Lady hired Luciano Spalletti. He has already beaten his previous personal record, and there’s a third of the campaign left. The coach is no stranger to enhancing cutters from such a position, as Radja Nainggolan and Simone Perrotta thrived under him.
