Inter Milan star Yann Bisseck reiterated his loyalty to the club and discussed his strange relationship with former manager Simone Inzaghi.

During his recent interview with Kicker via L’Interista, the 25-year-old reflected on his role under the current Al-Hilal boss.

Signed from Danish club Aarhus in the summer of 2023, Yann Bisseck initially struggled for minutes but gradually worked his way into the first-team picture.

Last season, he made 27 appearances in Serie A, netting three goals and adding three assists.

Despite a slow start under new coach Cristian Chivu, the German defender has cemented his first-team status over the course of the campaign.

Indeed, he has leapfrogged Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij in the pecking order.

For context, he has made 13 starts in Inter’s last 15 league matches, helping his side register seven clean sheets in that sequence.

Therefore, Inter are reluctant to sell Bisseck in the summer despite growing interest from several Premier League sides.

Yann Bisseck Discusses His Relationship with Former Inter Milan Boss Simone Inzaghi

“It was right after the Under-21 European Championship in Georgia and Romania,” Bisseck said. “The club had offered me the chance to take more time off. But when you arrive in a new environment, you have to make the most of every day – especially when you move from Denmark to a world-class club like Inter.

“As a player who cost ‘only’ seven million euros, you first have to prove your worth so you’re not seen as just a training dummy among all these superstars.

Simone Inzaghi and I couldn’t really communicate, apart from a few words in French. I had the feeling he didn’t quite know what to do with me.

“At first, it was also funny, but not easy. Because if you’re a defender and you can’t communicate with your teammates, it becomes difficult.”

Then, he admitted he had no choice but to learn Italian as quickly as possible.

“In general, I’ve always found new languages fascinating. If I hadn’t committed to it, I probably would have had to wait even longer to play than I already did.

“I would sit in bars and try to order everything in Italian. I simply tried to absorb life, the people, the way of interacting. It worked really well. Now I speak Italian almost fluently.”

Furthermore, Bisseck confirmed that he speaks several languages, including German, English, and French.

“It’s fundamental in the dressing room, in relationships, and in daily life with teammates. In that sense, it’s very useful.”

Inter Milan Defender Yann Bisseck Fully Committed to San Siro

Despite being linked with a mega-money move to the Premier League, Bisseck insists he is happy at San Siro.

“I’m living my dream at Inter,” he added. “This is the club that, among other things, made me the player I am today, and for that I’m grateful.

“I defend these colors, black and blue, on and off the pitch. Everything else is part of the business, but it’s not something that worries me. I’m happy here in Milan, and it’s exactly the right place for me.”

Given his importance to the club, it’s hard to expect Inter to let him leave in the summer.

However, the Nerazzurri may be willing to listen to offers in the region of €40 million.

Meanwhile, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign the German ace.
