Inter Milan’s transfer plans are beginning to take shape, with movement in defence potentially triggered by negotiations involving Joao Cancelo.

According to Il Giorno, via FCInter1908, any deal that sees either Francesco Acerbi or Stefan de Vrij leave the club could spark a domino effect across the Nerazzurri’s summer strategy.

Both veterans have been mentioned as possible counterparts in talks with Al-Hilal, particularly if Inter move decisively for Cancelo.

Should one of the two defenders depart, Inter have already lined up a successor. The profile at the top of the list is Tarik Muharemovic, the young centre-back currently with Sassuolo.

The Italian outlet reports that Inter are closely monitoring Muharemovic, whose valuation has climbed to around €30 million.

That figure carries an added complication.

Half of any future fee would be owed to Juventus, due to clauses agreed at the time of the defender’s move to Sassuolo. Even so, Inter view him as a long-term investment capable of refreshing a back line that is likely to undergo change.

Interestingly, the valuation of Muharemovic could also intersect with another major storyline. Juventus remain attentive to Davide Frattesi, whose price tag is not far removed from that of the Sassuolo defender.

Frattesi is seeking more consistent playing time, while Inter are reluctant to sanction a loan or strengthen a direct rival.

However, Il Giorno suggests that a substantial offer, combined with the player’s insistence, could eventually soften Inter’s stance. If so, the paths of Muharemovic and Frattesi may yet become unexpectedly intertwined as the market accelerates.
