The future of David Frattesi at Inter Milan is once again in question, with reports from Italy suggesting the midfielder could leave as early as January if a suitable offer arrives.
The Corriere dello Sport reports that the Italian has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter.
Indeed, first under Simone Inzaghi and now with Cristian Chivu, despite expectations of a greater role this season.
“If Inzaghi had stayed, his departure would have been automatic,” writes CdS, via FCInter1908.
“The coaching change convinced him to stay, with Chivu imagining a more advanced position for him in a 3-4-2-1 setup. But that idea was later abandoned due to lack of personnel in midfield.”

While Frattesi’s late runs into the box theoretically suit Chivu’s vertical and aggressive style, his impact so far has been limited.
The report also notes that talks over a potential contract renewal, discussed at the end of the summer, have since gone completely quiet.
“It wouldn’t be a surprise if talk of a January exit resurfaced,” adds CdS.
“Faced with an adequate proposal, Inter would not put up barriers.”
This is Frattesi’s third season in Milan, yet his role remains largely unchanged.
