Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo is looking forward to facing Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley in March.

The 26-year-old has made a fast start to life at the Etihad Stadium since joining Manchester City for £64 million from Bournemouth in January on a five-and-a-half year contract.

Semenyo has scored four times in City colours already, including crucial strikes against Newcastle United and Tottenham in the Carabao Cup and Premier League respectively in January to establish himself as one of the first names on Pep Guardiola’s teamsheet.

City have been far from convincing so far in 2026 but Semenyo has helped alleviate the goalscoring burden on Erling Haaland since his arrival to the north-west – though he has missed UEFA Champions League meetings with Bodo/Glimt and Galatasaray in the last month due to squad registration rules.

The Ghana international started for City in their monumental 2-1 comeback win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday evening, with Guardiola’s men making a huge statement at the home of the reigning Premier League champions courtesy of late goals from Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.

The jury remains out on whether Manchester City can build on recent wins over Newcastle United and Liverpool, with the former sealing the Blues’ berth in the Carabao Cup final, as they vie for silverware on multiple fronts in the coming months.

Guardiola is missing a host of key first-team stars but having added Semenyo, Marc Guehi, academy graduate Max Alleyne and 2025 summer signing Sverre Nypan to the first-team ranks in January, it seems as if City might just have enough fuel left in the tank to push for a successful finish to the season.

City have kept pace with Premier League leaders Arsenal for now and with the Carabao Cup final serving a chance to win silverware as early as March, Semenyo is looking forward to the first cup final of his career.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the forward said: “It feels crazy, man. Honestly, I’ve never been in a final before. I’m just pinching myself, obviously playing against Arsenal.

“It’s going to be a top final, a top team. These are the moments every footballer dreams of. I’m lucky I’m living that reality.”

City will gain a major psychological boost in the title race should they beat Arsenal at Wembley in March, with the top two sides in the Premier League also facing each other a month later at the Etihad Stadium in a clash that could play a huge role in determining the eventual champions.

Semenyo has made a blistering start at City and will want to build on his early goalscoring run to ensure a strong finish to the season and make a difference for Guardiola in the run-in.
