Despite vying for a historic treble in mid-April, Inter Milan had to settle for a trophyless season in 2024/25.

Indeed, Napoli beat them to the Serie A title, while Paris Saint-Germain hammered them in the Champions League final.

A 5-0 rout in the Munich showpiece was particularly upsetting, particularly considering it was Simone Inzaghi’s last game in charge.

Little did anyone know the 49-year-old would take charge of Al-Hilal less than a month since the Champions League debacle.

However, Cristian Chivu has helped the Nerazzurri recover from that embarrassing defeat.

Inzaghi’s successor has restored confidence at San Siro in the first two months of the 2025/26 season.

Furthermore, he has put his own stamp on Inter’s tactics, turning the Nerazzurri into a formidable force again.

“Six matches are enough to provide some depth to these early-season impressions,” Condo admitted. “Especially since in each of the last four years, the second international break has always featured three of the four eventual Champions League qualifiers in the top positions.

“After the break, Serie A resumes with Roma vs Inter. It, somewhat surprisingly, will be the clash between the league’s best defense and best attack.”

Then, Condo delivered his verdict on Chivu’s early impact.

“Chivu has finally completed the puzzle that fell apart in Monaco,” he stated.

“He added that verticality, which, in modern football, is synonymous with entertainment.

“It promises to be a great game,” Condo concluded.

Inter headed into the international break in fourth, only three points behind upcoming rivals Roma.
