It’s still too early to talk about concrete negotiations in October, but initial assessments and preliminary evaluations are starting to take shape, especially regarding the attacking department.
From this perspective, Milan and Roma could revisit a swap deal already discussed in recent months: that of Santiago Gimenez and Artem Dovbyk, two forwards who have so far failed to fully convince their respective clubs.
The two clubs had already begun negotiations last summer, but these negotiations fell through in the final stages of the transfer window. Gimenez remained in Milan, where he arrived with high expectations, while Dovbyk has only found sporadic consistency with Roma, due to inconsistent performances and a less-than-optimal physical condition.
However, both retain great potential and a significant market value, elements that could make the swap advantageous for all parties involved.
As reported in today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the idea of reopening discussions in January is particularly taking shape given the need for both forwards to regain centrality and playing time.
Dovbyk has shown positive signs in recent outings, but his consistency remains to be seen, while Gimenez, despite being placed in a different coaching environment, has yet to find the right fit with the Rossoneri environment.
