Chelsea talent Landon Emenalo is looking like the next big thing to come out of Cobham, and he’s just spoken about his development.

There are always players in the Chelsea academy worth getting excited about, and while it’s usually those scoring goals who get the most pop, sometimes a player just looks so good that they get in on the act.

You can put Landon Emenalo in that category. Whether he’s playing at left back or in midfield, he’s got the brain of a top player, you can tell just from watching him.

Bit by bit, his profile is rising. No longer is he just on people’s radars because his father used to be our sporting director.

Today he’s even got an interview on the club’s official website. There he spoke about his key role for the Under-21 team, where he’s become a key player. The young Blues play tomorrow afternoon and are looking to go back top of the Premier League 2 table.

“I feel like I’ve really developed this season by gaining experience against different sides,” Emenalo said. He also noted that playing European football in the UEFA Youth League had been big for him.

“It’s been a good challenge mentally, but also physically on my body. Playing in a busy schedule prepares us for senior football and the demands that come with it. Every game you learn something that helps you develop and progress further. We reflect, work on those reflections in training and now the focus is fully on the next one.”
