Manchester United midfield prospect Jack Moorhouse has received formal approval to take a big step in his international career.

Moorhouse enjoying loan spell

Moorhouse, one of the highest-rated talents in United’s famed academy system, is currently on loan at Leyton Orient, where he is doing well under Richie Wellens.

A versatile midfielder capable of fulfilling various roles in the middle of the park to great effect, Moorhouse is showing the full extent of his abilities in England’s third division.

Moorhouse has made 11 appearances for Orient so far this term.

Last term, Moorhouse regularly trained with the United first team, showing that Ruben Amorim and the coaching staff appreciate his attributes.

He has yet to make his senior debut but if he continues to do well at Orient, it may only be a matter of time until he is given a chance to prove himself and potentially break into Amorim’s squad.

For now, the player’s focus is on his development – a goal that has been significantly boosted by the news that he has been cleared to represent Ireland’s Under-21s.

Moorhouse receives international clearance

The Irish Examiner points out that Moorhouse is in line to represent Ireland Under-21s competitively for the first time after receiving the green light.

The United starlet will be available for Ireland’s upcoming European Championship qualifiers against England and Andorra.

Under-21 boss Jim Crawford named his squad earlier today, confirming that Moorhouse is part of his midfield options.

The 19-year-old qualifies to play for Ireland through his grandparents from Dublin and Mayo.

Moorhouse made his Under-21s debut in a March friendly against Scotland, but is now in line for his competitive debut next week.
