Jamaica, Cuba, Honduras Seal U-17 World Cup berths

MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers continued with five Group Stage matches taking place in Groups F, G, and H on Wednesday.
The day’s results saw Cuba, Jamaica, and Honduras win their respective groups to secure qualification for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026.
Group F
Cuba 0-0 Belize
Cuba booked its spot in the U-17 World Cup after a scoreless draw in Group F at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
It will be the first time since 1991 that Cuba will participate in the tournament.
Generating 17 total shots, Cuba was unable to find the breakthrough goal to take some of the pressure off. Belizean goalkeeper Lucas Gallego was stellar in net, making five big saves to take a point.
A draw was sufficient for Cuba to finish in first place and secure and advance to the U-17 World Cup.
El Salvador 5-1 Curaçao
El Salvador won 5-1 win over Curaçao in Group F at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
The scoring started two minutes into the match when Mayson Barillas smashed a shot inside the box.
Jefferson Perla added to the lead for El Salvador with an exceptional free kick in the 5’.
In the 21’, La Selecta extended its lead when Andrew Sorto found the back of the net from a tough angle.
Curaçao got its lone goal of the night in the 35’ as Eljan Sparen pounced on an errant back pass to cut into the deficit.
In the 42’, Sorto netted his second of the night as he knocked in a great cross from Rubén Andrade.
Jeremy Martinez put a stamp on the win in the 71’, when he ripped a stunner from distance to finish the tournament on a positive note for El Salvador.
Group G
Aruba 3-1 Cayman Islands
Aruba earned a 3-1 victory over the Cayman Islands in their Group G closer at Costa Rican Football Federation Field #1 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
After a scoreless first half, Aruba got going in the 68’ when Jermaine Carty rose up to knock in a header off a corner kick.
Aruba doubled its lead in the 87’ as Jaydrick Panneflek’s pinpoint cross into the box connected with Born Wayneston De Nobrega for the header.
Just moments later, De Nobrega’s shot from distance was deflected by Cayman Islands defender Jon-Marc Thomas for an own goal in the 88’.
Cayman Islands notched its first goal of the tournament in the closing moments as captain Quinn Small converted a penalty kick in the 90’+5’.
Canada 1-3 Jamaica
Jamaica rolled to a 3-1 victory over Canada to win Group G at Costa Rican Football Federation Field #1 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
The Reggae Boyz sealed direct qualification to the U-17 World Cup with the result.
The Caribbean side opened the scoring in the 37’ when a strong cross from Jamone Lyle bounced off Jahmarie Nolan and down off the crossbar.
Lyle scored a goal of his own in the 53’, after crashing into the box and firing one home.
Van Parker got Canada on the board as he converted a penalty kick in the 71’.
Jamaica put the finishing touches on its qualification when Jaheem Bennett tapped in a cross in the 90’+2’.
Group H
Honduras 2-0 Bermuda
Honduras earned a 2-nil win over Bermuda to close out Group H play at Estadio Francisco Morazán in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
The hosts booked their spot in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 with the victory.
Mike Arana opened the scoring in 35’, off the crossbar from an extremely tough angle on the left side.
Jeremy Rodriguez put a stamp on the result in the 82’ as he levitated to knock in a header.
