Bild reports that there is in fact a release clause in Musiala's new Bayern contract. That contract runs until 2030 and teams can snap him up for around €165m right now.

It's still a lot of money, of course - it would be a British transfer record. But the really interesting thing is that the release clause drops in value for Musiala's last year.

He can be signed for €100m in 2029. It's important to remember that such a deal would be for just one year of Musiala but given he's a sensational talent, and couple that with a natural inflation in transfer fees, it's possible that a club like Liverpool may be inclined to bite.
