Jardim says Flamengo do not want loan-and-see for Daniel Sales | OneFootball

Leonardo Jardim signalled that Flamengo do not want a loan-and-assess arrangement for Daniel Sales amid interest from Porto.

The Portuguese coach addressed the subject after Flamengo beat Benfica 2-1 in the Troféu do Algarve on Saturday.

A Brazilian journalist reported that Porto have lodged a formal bid to buy 50 percent of the right back’s economic rights, with Flamengo retaining the rest, and that the Rio club have not yet replied. The plan would be for Sales to begin with Porto’s B team.

Jardim said Flamengo’s academy has several players drawing attention, not only Sales. He explained the proposals focus on a loan to evaluate the player, which Flamengo do not want. He added that any move would need proper return for the club and that the matter sits with José Boto and the president.

Sales, 20, is regarded as one of Flamengo’s promising youth graduates.
