Javi Guerra, 23, ended the season strongly and debuted for Spain on 4 June against Iraq, drawing renewed interest, though he wants to stay at Valencia next season.
Cadena Cope reports that his release clause is 40 million euros at the start of July, rising to 60 million in August, below the 100 million in his previous contract.
Barcelona sporting director Deco met the midfielder’s agents in Barcelona on Tuesday, but Barcelona do not currently consider him a priority.
Seeking a Bernardo Silva-style playmaker, and with the Portuguese opting for Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho, Barcelona have Kang In Lee among alternative options. The PSG player is represented by former Valencia footballer Javi Garrido, he joined for 22 million euros from Mallorca and is contracted to 2028.
Beyond a Barcelona enquiry, long-term admirers include Atletico Madrid and Premier League sides Aston Villa and Newcastle.
Valencia’s stance aligns with the player. The club indicate he is not for sale, regard him as the closest thing to indispensable, and his salary rises through a deal signed last summer to 2029. On Thursday he posted an Instagram story wearing next season’s shirt.
