Javi Guerra’s release clause at Valencia is set to rise to 60 million from 1 August, having been 40 until then, according to Deportes Cope Valencia.

Barcelona have renewed their interest in the Gilet-born midfielder, with Deco meeting his agents on Monday to assess a possible move. He is considered Valencia’s most promising player and the most valuable on the market.

Valencia are not contemplating his exit at this stage and are referring suitors to the buyout clause.

Hansi Flick believes he could become an important option in Barcelona’s midfield. Two summers ago, in 2024, Atlético Madrid and Valencia reached a preliminary agreement for his transfer that fell through because they opted for Gallagher.

Guerra finished the season strongly, earning a place as one of nine supporting players in Spain’s first-week camp before the squad flew to America for the World Cup. He made his international debut in a friendly against Iraq.

Last summer Valencia extended his deal from 2027 to 2029 with a progressive salary increase, and that contract also reduced his clause at the time.
