Chelsea claimed a remarkable 4-1 comeback victory at Aston Villa in the Premier League on Wednesday.

The hosts took the lead inside the opening three minutes after Leon Bailey skipped past Jorrel Hato to cut back for Douglas Luiz to tuck home the opener.

The Blues almost responded straight away after Alejandro Garnacho played an inviting cross to the far post for Joao Pedro to meet, but Emiliano Martinez saved his header.

Chelsea continued to search for an equaliser and almost got it after Cole Palmer met Garnacho’s pass first time, but Martinez made another save.

Pedro restored parity for the visitors after Malo Gusto was found brilliantly by Fernandez. He squared it to the Brazilian to tap home the equaliser.

Watkins thought he had given the Villans the lead after Morgan Rogers teed him up, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Pedro gave the Blues the lead after fine work by Garnacho and Fernandez. The striker finished past Martinez with a lovely chip.

Palmer got the visitors’ third after the break, lashing in a belter from the edge of the area.

Pedro completed his hat-trick after Palmer found Garnacho on the break. He squared it to the Brazilian to tap home his third of the night.

Garnacho could’ve increased the margin as he was found by Marc Cucurella on the break, but his effort was saved by Martinez.

Chelsea have now moved to fifth in the Premier League standings, while Villa remain fourth in the race for Champions League qualification.
