Leeds United loanee Joe Gelhardt helped Hull City clinch a Championship play-off spot on the final day, narrowing Leeds United’s potential opponents for next season.
As reported by yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the forward started as the Tigers hosted Norwich City in their decisive finale.
Mohamed Toure put Norwich ahead in the 26th minute. Oli McBurnie equalised from the penalty spot two minutes later, then struck the winner in the 67th minute.
The victory secured sixth place for Hull and the final play-off berth, setting up a semi-final against Millwall.
Southampton will face Middlesbrough in the other semi-final, while Ipswich Town sealed the second automatic promotion place with a 3-0 home win over QPR.
It means Coventry City, the champions, and Ipswich, plus one of Millwall, Middlesbrough, Southampton or Hull, could be Leeds’ new opponents next season, should they secure Premier League survival.
