Jon Uriarte keeps Nerea Ortiz in Athletic re-election team | OneFootball

Jon Uriarte said in a statement on Saturday that club vice-president Nerea Ortiz Olarra will remain part of his re-election team at Athletic, without confirming whether she will retain the same position.

Ortiz Olarra, a telecommunications engineering graduate from UPV/EHU, is general manager at the BC3 Basque Centre for Climate Change, coordinating work across several areas in a 14-person team.

Uriarte’s ticket is still being assembled, and it remains to be seen whether any other candidate will stand or if there will be no alternative.

On Monday he named eight further members from the outgoing board, Jon Salinas, Xabi Álvarez, Ibon Naberan, Nacho Urigüen, Roque Echániz, Jon Ruigómez, Laura Ruiz de Azua and Josetxu Urrutia.

Changes outlined on Thursday included the omission of Gorka Cubes, one of the two directors who handled relations with Athletic’s supporters’ clubs, from his team. Garazi Unibaso and Ainhoa Iza will also depart for personal and professional reasons.

Further outgoing directors and new members will be added in the coming weeks.
