According to Diario Do Peixe, Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s release clause is R$ nine million and should be paid in three instalments by Santos. The club announced the Argentine’s departure on Thursday night after seven months in charge.
Pressure had been building, but a 2-1 defeat to Internacional at Vila Belmiro, in the seventh round of the Brasileirão, proved the final straw. Santos had gone close to a month without a win, their last coming against Vasco at the end of February, also at Vila.
Vojvoda leaves with 34 matches in charge and an overall return of 43 percent. His record reads 10 wins, 14 draws and 10 defeats.
The loss to Internacional also ended Santos’ unbeaten run at Vila Belmiro, and Internacional had not previously won in the Brasileiro.
The Argentine was appointed in August last year on a contract running until the end of this year. Financial considerations had earlier been a hurdle to making a change.
