According to L'Équipe, Julien Fournier, Nice's former sporting director from 2011 to 2022, is in advanced negotiations with Lorient over a role expected to be director of football.
The change of majority shareholder at Lorient should become noticeable from next week. The club is now run by the Black Knight Football and Entertainment consortium, which is notably owned by Bournemouth. The club will undergo changes to its hierarchy.
While a Lyon-linked duo, Laurent Prud'homme and David Friio, had been considered, talks have advanced with Fournier.
His hoped-for arrival would coincide with the departure of chief executive Arnaud Tanguy.
Laurent Koscielny should keep his job as sporting director.
