Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson could move to Italy this summer with both Napoli and Juventus pondering a deal, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Following the arrival of Liam Delap and Chelsea’s continued pursuit of another striker, Jackson’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain.
The Senegalese had a game to forget on his 24th birthday on Friday as he was sent off within minutes of coming on as a second-half substitute in Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Flamengo.
Jackson has shown flashes of brilliance, but his time with the Blues has been marred by inconsistency. He has struggled with composure and decision-making in the final third.
Juventus are considering a move for Jackson, while Napoli are also weighing up an approach.
The Bianconeri are reportedly ahead of Napoli in the race to sign Jackson due to the latter’s interest in Darwin Nunez and Lorenzo Lucca.
Financial considerations will be central to a move given that Jackson’s contract runs until 2033, and Chelsea are unlikely to accept a lowball offer.
No formal approach has been made yet, but that could change over the next couple of weeks.
Jackson is currently focused on making up for his second lapse in discipline over the last month, although he may have to wait until August to feature in a Chelsea shirt once again.
