Former Sunderland target Lucumí is back in the frame, with Juventus showing interest and Barcelona monitoring his situation.

Sky Sport Italia reports Juventus have made contact over a deal for the 27-year-old, who has a €28million release clause valid until mid-July, around £24.1million.

Sunderland submitted official bids and wage proposals after promotion to the Premier League, with the Colombia international believed to be open at one stage. Bologna, having lost other key defenders, were reluctant to sanction a sale and the move fell through. Sunderland did not revisit the pursuit in January.

Lucumí joined Bologna from Genk in 2022 and has become a mainstay, making 149 appearances. He helped win the Coppa Italia in 2024-25 and secure Champions League qualification. This season he leads the team with 168 defensive contributions in Serie A.

He has one year left on his contract, leaving Bologna with a decision to make if no new deal is agreed. Barcelona are also tracking him, while his agent has indicated he is settled in Italy and focused on Bologna. A strong World Cup with Colombia could increase interest, though the clause gives clubs a clear figure before mid-July.
