‘Juventus paid the price for failing to sell Vlahovic’ – former Serie A striker | OneFootball

Former striker Nicola Ventola believes Juventus were forced into a corner during the summer transfer window after failing to sell Dusan Vlahovic.

Speaking at the Overtime Festival, with quotes via TuttoMercatoWeb, the former Inter and Atalanta forward argued that the decision not to cash in on the Serbian forward ultimately disrupted the club’s entire transfer strategy.

“In my opinion, Juventus were the ones who really paid the price,” Ventola said.

‘Juventus missed out on Kolo Muani due to Vlahovic’

“By not selling Vlahovic, who was supposed to leave, they missed out on their real target – Kolo Muani. It left them scrambling in the final days of the market, signing good players, but not the ones they had truly wanted.”

He also commented on Jonathan David and Lois Openda, two forwards who joined Juventus in the summer.

“They’ve both scored a lot and provided assists, but playing for Juventus isn’t easy. Things didn’t go smoothly for the club in that sense.”

Ventola’s comments echo a wider feeling that Juventus’ summer planning failed to match their ambitions.

The Bianconeri are unbeaten so far this season but have drawn three of their opening six games, including three on the bounce recently in Serie A.
