Juventus have revived their pursuit of Corinthians midfielder André Luiz, 20. ESPN Brasil reports the Turin club made first contact last week and an official offer is anticipated in the coming days.

Corinthians hold 70% of his economic rights. He is also appreciated by coach Luciano Spalletti, and talks have continued under new football chief Frederic Massara.

The Juventus move is independent of any discussions involving Arthur, a midfielder targeted by Corinthians. The club’s finances remain strained, with debt around R$ 2.7 billion and a 2026 target of R$ 151 million in player sales, while two FIFA transfer bans are active over late payments to Philadelphia Union for José Martínez.

Juventus previously sent a proposal earlier this year. André came closest to leaving when Milan sought a deal worth 15 million euros plus two million euros in add-ons, with Corinthians retaining 20% of any future profit.

Following strong fan opposition and public criticism from then coach Dorival Júnior, the board led by Osmar Stabile reversed course and rejected Milan’s bid.

Promoted to the senior squad in August 2025, André quickly earned starts under Dorival before ankle issues sidelined him twice, each time briefly. Under Fernando Diniz he dipped then regained the manager’s trust.

He has played 42 matches for Corinthians, starting 27, with 17 wins, 15 draws and 10 defeats, and has scored seven goals. He was part of the squads that won the Copa do Brasil and the Supercopa Rei.
