Inter players played nearly double the minutes of their Juventus counterparts across the international break, as Juventus vs Inter is set to take place in Turin on Saturday for the first Derby d’Italia of the season.

It is a crucial game at an early stage for both teams, who will be looking to assert dominance in the fixture and picking up what could end up being a decisive three points in the race for the Scudetto.

Juventus will be hoping that they can use a less-active international break to gain an advantage over a Nerazzurri side who could show signs of fatigue.

Juventus players stick to Europe whilst Inter fly further

Another positive aspect for Juventus is that none of their squad had to travel intercontinentally during the international break. Jonathan David, who plays for Canada, stayed in Europe himself – with friendly matches against Romania and Wales.

Inter, meanwhile, had Lautaro Martínez participate in international duty for Argentina, albeit playing just 79 minutes.

Three Nerazzurri players played two full matches: Alessandro Bastoni, Denzel Dumfries and Manuel Akanji. Furthermore, all three defenders found the back of the net.

Petar Sucic also played for his national side, alongside Milan midfielder Luka Modric for Croatia.

Juventus vs Inter kicks off at 17:00 UK time on Saturday September 13.
