Corinthians drew 1-1 with Santos at Vila Belmiro in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, as Kaio César returned from injury and supplied Memphis Depay for Corinthians’ goal.
According to Meu Timao, the winger missed eight matches after suffering a right hamstring problem early in the Capivariano tie on 5 February, in the Paulista. He began his physical transition in early March and was only available again for the Clássico Alvinegro.
Wearing number 37, he played 63 minutes. He completed 12 of 16 passes, with 10 in the attacking half, recorded one progressive carry and one shot, and won five ground duels plus two in the air.
The club’s medical department continue to monitor several others. Left-back Hugo and fellow full-back Hugo Farias are recovering from surgery on the lateral meniscus of the right knee, while goalkeeper Felipe Longo is treating a ligament sprain in his right elbow and Yuri Alberto is in the final stage of rehab for a grade 2 left biceps femoris injury.
Midfielder Matheus Pereira returned to the bench, having been sidelined since 19 February with a grade 2 biceps femoris injury sustained against Athletico Paranaense.
Corinthians are next in action on Thursday 19, away to Chapecoense at 21:30 at Arena Condá, in round seven of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
