Kenichiro Kogure, former Japan futsal head coach and now Nagoya Oceans boss, visited Corinthians at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, meeting Fernando Malafaia, Daniel Magalhães and Lorenzo Fontana. He observed both first-team and under-20 sessions.

The club said in a post that the visit was another chance for learning and sharing on court, strengthening ties between teams with a shared futsal development vision.

Founded in 2006 in Nagoya, the club are an Asian powerhouse with four continental titles, 16 Japanese League crowns, 13 F-League Ocean Cups and five Japanese Cups. They currently supply seven players to the national team.

Corinthians are finalising preparations for their LNF opener away to Joinville on Saturday at 18:30 at Centreventos Cau Hansen. The under-20 session also featured club idol Deives and former pivot Vander Carioca, both retired, as the age-group prepared for Friday's Paulista opener away to Liga Sancaetanense at Ginásio Joaquim Cambauva Rabello at 17:00.

Earlier this year, Corinthians toured Japan at Nagoya Oceans' invitation, losing 3-0 to Nagoya then drawing 2-2 with the All-Stars J-League, a selection of league stars. The fixtures doubled as Deives' farewell after he retired at the end of last season, with his participation contractually required and strong backing from Fiel Japão.

After a quarter-final exit at the Super Copa Gramado, Corinthians face a busy 2026 across the LNF, the Copa LNF and the Campeonato Paulista.
