With their attacking firepower and home advantage, the Harambee Stars could secure a convincing win.
Kenya host Seychelles this Tuesday in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. After their weekend defeat to Gambia, the Harambee Stars cannot afford any slip-ups against a struggling Seychelles side.
The 3-1 home loss to Gambia has left its mark. Caught off guard in the opening half-hour, Engin Firat’s players never managed to turn things around, despite a late goal from Ryan Ogam. With just two wins in their last five matches, Kenya have been far too inconsistent. But playing on home soil, against a clearly outmatched opponent, this is the perfect opportunity to regain confidence and rack up some goals for the home fans’ enjoyment.
The Seychelles national team are enduring a real ordeal in this campaign. Zero points from seven matches, 18 goals conceded in their last five outings, and not a single win in sight. Their latest loss, a 4-0 drubbing by Gabon, only highlighted the Pirates’ massive defensive frailties. The trip to Nairobi looks set to be another near-impossible mission.
For Kenya, the goal is clear: win big and get their Group F campaign back on track. Michael Olunga and his teammates also need to show more cutting edge up front, having scored just five goals in five games. The head-to-head record between these two sides is telling: six wins for Kenya and one draw in seven encounters.
For Seychelles, the priority is simply to limit the damage, regain some defensive solidity, and avoid another heavy defeat.
