FC Barcelona have a number of important players currently sidelined due to injury issues, with Lamine Yamal becoming the latest casualty earlier today.

The 18-year-old winger is expected to be out for a period of two to three weeks due to the recurrence of pubic discomfort, and the plan is for him to be ready for the Clasico against Real Madrid later this month.

As such, there are doubts about his readiness for the games against Girona and Olympiacos right after the international break. But Barcelona could be boosted by the return of two other important players for those matches.

Fermin, Raphinha to return against Girona

Indeed, according to journalist Javi Miguel, key Barcelona duo Fermin Lopez and Raphinha are expected to receive their medical clearance in time for the game against Girona on 18 October.

Fermin was sidelined in September after picking up a muscle injury late in the win over Getafe, with a three-week recovery timeline specified.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder already resumed working on the field by himself today, taking a big step forward. As such, the expectation is for him to receive the all-clear soon after the international break.

Meanwhile, Raphinha sustained a hamstring problem during Barcelona’s away game against Real Oviedo a few days after Fermin’s injury.

Like with the Spaniard, the Brazilian winger was also sidelined for three weeks, which will be completed ahead of the Girona clash.

As such, Raphinha, too, is expected to be given the green light by the Barcelona medical department for the derby against Girona on 18 October.

As for Joan Garcia, his recovery is likely to take a bit longer, but the goalkeeper is working to make it back in time for the Clasico on 26 October.
