Kylian Mbappé launches defence of Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal: ‘Leave him alone’ | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has this week moved to throw his backing behind Barcelona counterpart Lamine Yamal.

This comes amid the near-constant criticism of the latter across the media.

Wide-man Lamine has of course long established himself as not only world football’s standout young talent, but arguably the very best player in the game full stop.

Still just 18, the attacker boasts all of the traits to mark an era over the years to come.

And yet, in the media, it has so often been Lamine’s behaviour away from the pitch which has grabbed the headlines.

Scrutinised to no end for his behaviour, many have used the youngster’s outgoing personality as a weapon against him.

And as alluded to above, this week, Lamine has therefore been defended by a player who also exploded into the limelight at a young age.

Speaking during an interview with Movistar, Kylian Mbappé was drawn on the constant chatter surrounding Barcelona’s prodigious winger.

And the Frenchman made use of the opportunity to explain:

“Lamine Yamal? People talk a lot about his personal life. I think they should leave him alone. In football, he is a great player, but in life, he is an 18-year-old kid.”
