RTVE has agreed a deal with DAZN to show one Primera División match free-to-air on Teledeporte each round, returning La Liga to public television after 10 years.

The free-to-air broadcasts begin on Friday, 16 January at 21.00, with Espanyol hosting Girona. RTVE said in a statement that the pact underlines its commitment to free-to-air sport and consolidates Teledeporte as the go-to channel for LaLiga EA Sports teams not in Europe.

Confirmed upcoming free matches are Levante v Elche on matchday 21 and Mallorca v Sevilla on matchday 22.

Clubs set to feature in this window include Sevilla, Real Sociedad, Espanyol, Mallorca, Osasuna and Alavés. Athletic, Villarreal, Betis, Celta de Vigo and Rayo Vallecano will join once their continental campaigns end.

RTVE has a long tradition of broadcasting top-flight football, airing La Liga since 1963 and a weekly game until the 1989-90 season. The competition returned in 2015-16 and will now screen regularly on Teledeporte.
