Real Madrid are already dealing with multiple absences due to injuries. They went into today’s match against Levante without Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Antonio Rudiger, Andriy Lunin, and Rodrygo Goes.

Now, another name has been added to the list of absences for their next La Liga game against Villarreal.

Aurelien Tchouameni suspended

Indeed, Aurelien Tchouameni will miss next week’s match away to Villarreal due to suspension after receiving a yellow card against Levante.

Half an hour into the match, the Real Madrid midfielder was booked for stopping a counter-attack with a strong challenge from behind on Carlos Alvarez of Levante.

Referee Sesma Espinosa did not hesitate and immediately showed the French midfielder a yellow card.

It was the fifth yellow card of Tchouameni’s league campaign. He had previously been booked against Villarreal, Valencia, Espanyol and Getafe.

As a result, Alvaro Arbeloa will be without a key player for one of the most demanding away fixtures of the season, with Real Madrid set to visit a Villarreal side firmly placed near the top of the table next Saturday.

The manager does have other options to choose from, though, with Eduardo Camavinga available as well as young Jorge Cestero, who made his first senior start in the cup tie against Albacete.
