Guille Fernandez is one of the most highly-rated prospects coming through the ranks at Barcelona’s fabled La Masia youth setup currently.
The 16-year-old midfield prodigy, though, is experiencing a bittersweet season thus far. While he had his breakthrough with Barça Atletic and has established himself as a regular starter, the team has been struggling, battling relegation in the RFEF Primera Division.
Guille, so far, has made 26 appearances for Barça Atletic this term, scoring five goals and assisting one more. Naturally, his performances have attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe.
However, according to SPORT, despite receiving significant interest from other clubs, Guille’s dream remains crystal clear – to succeed with Barcelona’s first team.
Currently, his priority is helping Barça Atletic avoid relegation. Despite Sergi Mila’s side needing a miracle, the youngster and the rest of his teammates believe that things can still be turned around.
Looking beyond the current campaign, Guille views next season as critical for his development. The ideal scenario would be a year split between Barça Atletic – still in Primera Division – and gaining more exposure with the first team.

He has already been called up several times to train with the senior squad and has even been named in matchday squads for ten games by Hansi Flick.
If Barça Atletic are relegated, Guille sees a loan as a logical next step to keep competing at a high level and strengthen his chances of returning ready to fight for a spot in the first team.
In this regard, he looks up to Fermin Lopez as a key reference—someone who went on loan to Linares before making his breakthrough at Barça.
Guille knows he still has a lot of room for growth and is not afraid to take a longer route if it gets him to the top. He is known for his competitive spirit and maturity and fully understands that talent alone is not enough to make it at Barcelona.
Despite interest from top European clubs, Guille remains committed to Barça. He is determined to do whatever it takes to turn his dream into reality – wearing the first-team jersey at Spotify Camp Nou.
