Atletico Madrid are reportedly pursuing Manchester United winger Antony who has been superb since joining Real Betis on loan.

The Brazilian has been on the Red Devils’ books since the summer of 2022 when he was signed from Ajax for a whopping £86 million.

Over two and a half years, Antony failed to deliver the goods at Old Trafford, so he was sent out on loan to Betis in January.

The 25-year-old became an instant hit at the Andalusian club. He has already contributed with six goals and four assists across all competitions. His most recent masterpiece was in Thursday’s Conference League clash against Fiorentina, when he scored a sensational goal against his former United teammate David De Gea.

Therefore, Betis have already expressed their desire to keep the winger at the club beyond his current loan spell, but it remains to be seen if they’ll be able to afford the high costs of the operation.

According to Spanish journalist Carlos Benito (via Atletico Universe), Atletico Madrid have reportedly enquired about Antony’s services.

Diego Simeone and his collaborators have surely noticed the Brazil international’s exploits in LaLiga, so they’ll be hoping to keep him in Spain.

The Colchoneros certainly have larger financial means than Betis, so they would probably come out on top if a tug-of-war were to ensue between the two LaLiga clubs.
