Tyrique George continues to be the Chelsea first team player most likely to be sold this winter, and a BBC report has updated us on his future.

Nizaar Kinsella notes that the 19 year old has been left out of the last 12 Premier League squads, after Liam Delap and Cole Palmer’s returns to fitness reduced the spaces on the bench.

George didn’t even make the bench for the game against Charlton in the FA Cup last weekend, and only featured as a sub against Arsenal in midweek because a full 8 players were ruled out for the game.

The fact that Chelsea accepted a £22m bid from Fulham on deadline day for the winger shows they’re not counting on him, but they don’t seem to have come back with a fresh attempt in this winter window.

“He is not expected to revive a switch to Craven Cottage after being left frustrated by how the failed move was handled,” Kinsella writes.

If no buyer is found, a loan could be considered – we don’t have to worry about losing him on a free just yet.

As Kinsella puts it, Chelsea “appear ready to cash in on another academy product,” having made a steady stream of profit over the last few years doing just that. Whatever happens now, George needs a move which will allow him to start playing again.

New Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has been speaking in glowing terms about a defender already at the club. We all want to see more of Josh Acheampong, and it sounds like we will.

Maresca was popular and respected by the players – Liam Rosenior now has to earn that same status. According to Trevoh Chalobah, that process is already underway.
