Lavieri refusal to sign responsibility term explained by Corinthians council president | OneFootball

On Monday night at Parque São Jorge, Corinthians’ Conselho Deliberativo approved the 2025 accounts by 106 votes to 68. Acting council president Leonardo Pantaleão praised the calm session and addressed André Lavieri’s refusal to sign a responsibility term.

According to ge.globo, president Osmar Stabile and finance director Emerson Piovesan signed the document in Lavieri’s stead, and Lavieri was warned he would remain legally responsible for the figures. Lavieri is a director at Alvarez & Marsal and serves as Corinthians’ finance manager.

Pantaleão said a responsibility term was needed since a third party worked daily in the finance department. As Lavieri would not sign, Stabile chose to take responsibility for the data, though accountability is personal and not transferable. Lavieri acknowledged this and delivered the presentation as planned.

The acting president described the meeting as respectful and technical, with every stage followed and room for members to speak. He said the vote was open and nominal, the ballots were counted and the result declared. He called it a tranquil session and aims to keep meetings at that standard.

Pantaleão took over the council presidency on 14 April after Romeu Tuma Júnior requested leave. By the council’s rules, the vice-president assumes leadership in the event of a vacancy.

The approved accounts cover the end of Augusto Melo’s tenure and the start of Stabile’s presidency. Corinthians closed the year with a deficit of R$ 143.4 million and total debt of R$ 2.723 billion.
