Lazio have issued an official update regarding the conditions of five of their players, including Nicolo Rovella.

Nicolo Rovella Hampered by Groin Problem

The Italian midfielder has been recently struggling with a groin problem that forced him to leave the pitch against Sassuolo towards the end of the first half, while barely lasting 45 minutes in the Derby della Capitale against Roma. Earlier reports suggested that surgical intervention is inescapable in this case, similar to Mattia Zaccagni who went under the knife last June.

Rovella Opts Against Surgery

Nevertheless, it appears that Rovella and the medical staff have decided to avert this option, at least for the time being. According to the press release published on the club’s official website, the 23-year-old has begun a rehabilitation process, which indicates that he has opted for an alternative route.

This afternoon, after a consultation between the medical staff—Prof. Ivo Pulcini, Prof. Fabio Rodia, and the club physician Dr. Italo Leo—the following was announced: Nicolò Rovella is struggling with rectus-adductor syndrome and has already begun rehabilitation.

Lazio Reveal Latest on Four Injured Players

The note also provided updates on four other Lazio players, beginning with Samuel Gigot who has recently undergone surgery. Moreover, Manuel Lazzari and Matias Vecino are still working their way back to fitness, while Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has picked up a muscle injury that could keep him out for around one month.

Samuel Gigot continues his post-surgery rehabilitation. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has suffered a muscle injury to his right hamstring. Manuel Lazzari and Matías Vecino are continuing their respective post-injury rehabilitation protocols.
