Lazio are targeting a new striker under Gennaro Gattuso and are proposing loan deals for Lorenzo Lucca and Roberto Piccoli. According to Football Italia, the priority is a big centre-forward, with Lucca the preferred option.
The Aquile are revamping their squad and never truly replaced Taty Castellanos after his January sale to West Ham United.
Lucca endured a difficult year. Napoli paid €35m to sign him from Udinese last summer, then after six months he joined Nottingham Forest on a €2m loan. He finished the season with three goals in 32 competitive appearances.
Napoli are keen to sell, though a loan with option to buy could be accepted, with Lazio minutes seen as a way to rebuild value. The proposal carries an €18m option, which might be too low for the Partenopei. They might also try to include him to lower the cost of Mario Gila.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that Lazio would take Piccoli only on loan from Fiorentina. Sport Mediaset claims the stance is the same. Gazzetta dello Sport also suggests a loan-only approach.
