Following the major disappointment on the opening day of the season, Lazio will be eager to prevail at the expense of Hellas Verona in their first home contest of the season.
The Serie A clash between Lazio and Lecce kicks off at 20:45 local time on Sunday, August 31, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Lazio were able to build some momentum in pre-season, especially after beating Burnley and Atromitos in their last friendlies. However, that was all in vain, as when the real action kicked off, they produced a feeble showing on the shores of Lake Como, as Cesc Fabregas’ men dominated the proceedings en route towards a well-deserved 2-0 win.
Therefore, Maurizio Sarri is forced to make some adjustments, whether in the formation, the starting lineup, or, more importantly, in the general approach. After all, anything but a victory would be considered the beginning of an early-season crisis.
Hellas Verona began their campaign by surviving an early scare in the opening round of the Coppa Italia, as they were only able to eliminate Serie C side Audace Cerignola by prevailing in penalty shootouts following a 1-1 draw.
The Gialloblu registered the same result on Monday in their first Serie A contest, as they managed to hold their rivals Udinese thanks to Suat Serdar’s equalizer in the 73rd minute. The team underwent a host of changes in the summer, so it remains to be seen how they’ll fare this season, but one would imagine that they’ll be involved in the relegation scrap at some point.
Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Provstgaard, Nuno Tavares; Guendouzi, Rovella, Dele-Bashiru; Cancellieri, Castellanos, Zaccagni.
Verona (3-5-2): Montipò; Nunez, Ebosse, Frese; Oyegoke, Niasse, Bernede, Serdar, Bradaric; Giovane, Mosquera.
The loyal Lazio supporters will flock to the Stadio Olimpico expecting a reaction, and Sarri’s men have no other choice but to deliver. The Aquile might suffer to take off, but at this point, even a slim victory would tend to their wounds.
