The stage is set for the Derby della Capitale as Lazio faces Roma tonight at 20:45 at the Stadio Olimpico in Matchday 19 of Serie A.
Speaking just before kickoff, Lazio coach Marco Baroni shared his thoughts with DAZN, reiterating the significance of the match and his team’s preparation.
“As far as my emotions go, the most important thing in life is passion,” stated Baroni.
“The Rome Derby is passion in its purest form. Every player dreams of playing in a match like this, with such an incredible atmosphere. What I hope—and what I’ve told the players—is to channel the positive energy required for a game like this.”
“We need to stay true to our game plan. We must not lose our identity. It’s essential to have a strong sense of who we are and bring all the joy and energy that a special evening like this deserves.”
He added, “Would it have been better for us to face Roma two months ago? Statistically speaking, yes—but as I said, this wasn’t the reality.”
“Roma is a different team now—they are dangerous, have found compactness and balance, and Ranieri has done a great job in that regard. The duel will be even more thrilling.”
