Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has confirmed that three players could return from injury for his side this weekend.
The Black Cats have been short of options in wide areas after suffering a number of injuries. However, Le Bris is hopeful that Jocelin Ta Bi, Bertrand Traore and Nilson Angulo could all return to action this Saturday.
“We had this period with four wingers out injured at the same time,” explained the French coach. “Three of them should be available soon.
“So probably Jocelin this weekend. We’ll make the decision for Bertrand and Nilson if they are available for this weekend or the week after. They are on the edge and in a good place.
“We want to play every game with the best 11, the best 20 players available for the team sheet and this is my mindset. It doesn’t change after the 40 point target.”
Sunderland will look to bounce back this weekend after suffering a humiliating 5-0 defeat at home to relegation-battling Nottingham Forest last Friday night.
Le Bris reflected: “For sure it hurt, a defeat like that, that’s obvious. I think it was a reminder and a warning about how demanding this league is.
“Hard to digest and it shows that even when you drop just slightly your standards, you get punished really quickly.
“At the same time I want to keep the perspective because this group has delivered a fantastic journey over the last two years. Promoted last season, reached 46 points at this stage, beat Newcastle twice and we are in the Premier League.
“It’s hard to digest but this is the most competitive environment in football. We have to accept it at the same time, even if it’s hard.
The Black Cats face a trip to Molineux to take on bottom-placed and already-relegated Wolves this Saturday. However, Le Bris is wary of his opposition.
Sunderland’s boss explained: “They’ve had a difficult season, that’s obvious. They’ve got some good results recently at home against Arsenal, Villa and Liverpool. Even against Tottenham, the game was tight.
“They play with freedom and they are still dangerous with good players. This is the Premier League so you can have a difficult season but still have quality.”
