Dion Charles and Bojan Radulovic's recent form has handed manager Lee Grant a surprise double weapon at Huddersfield Town.
It has been a turbulent season so far for Huddersfield Town in League One, but there has been plenty of reason for optimism in recent weeks.
After a busy summer that saw the arrival of 14 new signings, including high-profile additions such as Lynden Gooch, Joe Low, Jack Whatmough, Ryan Ledson, Marcus Harness and Alfie May, Huddersfield were tipped by many to win the third tier title this season.
The Terriers certainly lived up to that billing in the early stages of the season as they won four of their first five league games, but a poor run of form in September and October saw them slide down the table, and as FLW exclusively revealed last month, manager Lee Grant was fighting to save his job at the Acca Stadium.
However, it has been a positive few weeks for Town, and Grant's men secured their second consecutive league victory with a 3-1 win at Mansfield Town on Saturday, with goals from Bojan Radulovic, Dion Charles and Lasse Sorensen inside the first 16 minutes sealing a comfortable three points.
Huddersfield are currently seventh in the table, but they are only two points from the play-off places and three points from the automatic promotion spots, and the surprise upturn in fortunes of Charles and Radulovic has given Grant an unexpected double weapon as he looks to continue to guide his side up the league.

Charles was an eye-catching addition for Huddersfield in January when he arrived from fellow League One promotion hopefuls Bolton Wanderers for an initial fee of £750,000, with further bonuses included in the deal.
Given that Charles had scored 57 goals in 149 games for the Trotters, his signing looked to be a big coup for the Terriers, but he failed to score in 18 appearances in the second half of last season.
Charles came in for plenty of criticism for his performances on the pitch, but he also angered Town supporters when, while out injured, he was spotted in the away end watching former club Bolton's 2-1 defeat at Blackpool in March, on the same day that his current employers were beaten 4-0 at Charlton Athletic, and interim manager Jon Worthington admitted his actions were "a bit naive".
The 30-year-old's poor form continued at the start of this season, and after he failed to make a single matchday squad in the league for almost two months between August and October, it looked as though his days at the Accu Stadium were numbered.
Radulovic joined Huddersfield from Finnish side HJK in January 2024, but he was unable to score the goals to prevent the club's relegation from the Championship, and he netted just once in the first half of last season before being loaned out to Dutch top flight side Fortuna Sittard in February.
The former Serbia youth international only scored once in 11 appearances for the Eredivisie outfit, and after returning to West Yorkshire, he did not feature in the league until mid-September, but like Charles, he has reignited his Terriers career in recent weeks.

Many believe that Huddersfield have the best squad in League One on paper, but their big name stars failed to deliver in the early months of the season, and the lack of goals from their strikers was one particular cause for concern for Grant.
Alfie May and Joe Taylor have scored just seven goals between them in all competitions this season, and with the former suspended following his red card in the 3-0 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers last month, Grant decided to shake up his forward line and give Charles and Radulovic an opportunity.
Charles has certainly taken his chance with both hands, scoring two goals and providing two assists in his last two league appearances against Plymouth Argyle and Mansfield, as well as netting twice in the 3-1 victory over the Stags in the EFL Cup earlier this month.
Grant was full of praise for Charles after Huddersfield's latest win over Nigel Clough's side, hailing him for "his work ethic and his willingness to keep his head down", and there is no doubt that if he can get back to the levels he previously reached at Bolton, he will be a real asset for the Terriers in their pursuit of a return to the Championship.
While Charles' revival has grabbed many of the headlines, Radulovic's recent turnaround has been equally impressive, with the 25-year-old scoring in each of his last four appearances in all competitions, as well as providing two assists in the victory at Mansfield on Saturday.
Radulovic may not quite have the same track record as Charles in English football, but he did score 36 goals in 78 games for HJK prior to his move to the Accu Stadium, so he certainly has a strong goalscoring pedigree, and he is another player who could take League One by storm if he maintains his current standards.
Given the pair's struggles for much of their time at the club, Huddersfield supporters will be reluctant to get too carried away by Charles and Radulovic's recent form, but Grant may just have found the perfect formula to cure his side's attacking problems and get them moving in the right direction.
